Community service is usually tailored to the crime and can be an effective means at reducing recidivism.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Serve Your Time Under House Arrest\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You may be able to serve your time under house arrest instead of in jail if you meet certain criteria. For example, house arrest is usually offered to defendants who haven\u2019t committed any other crimes in the past and who were convicted of non-violent crimes.
